The Porsche 968 was introduced in 1992 and was manufactured in Porsche's Zuffenhausen factory in Germany. Replacing the out-going 944S2, the 968 had numerous mechanical upgrades and also received significantly evolved styling both inside and out, with a more modern streamlined look and more standard luxury than on the 944. The 968 was powered by an updated version of the 944's straight-4 engine, now displacing 3.0 litres with and producing 240 BHP. Changes to the 968's powertrain also included the addition of Porsche's then-new VarioCam variable valve timing system, newly optimized induction and exhaust systems, a dual-mass flywheel and updated engine management electronics. A new 6-speed manual transmission replaced the 944's old 5-speed and Porsche's dual-mode Tiptronic Automatic became an available option. This example was sold by AFN in Chiswick and first registered on 28th April 1993 and is finished in Polar Silver with Blue Leather trim, Blue Carpets, Electric Seats, Electric Windows, Electric Sun Roof, Trip computer, Air Conditioning, Tiptronic Transmission, Power Steering, Cat 2 Immobiliser, Kenwood Stereo/CD Player, Central Locking and 16" Five Spoke Alloy Wheels. Only 3 previous keepers from new and the last owner since 2009, it has now covered 104,000 miles and has a Full and Comprehensive Service History from Porsche Main dealers and Specialists with 16 stamps in the book! It was last serviced @ 102,000 miles by Charles Ivey in Fulham and this also included a new Cam Belt, Brake Discs and new Suspension bushes. The car is in lovely condition throughout, albeit with a few small scratches on both bumpers which you might expect for a 'London' car, but these can be attended to before sale with agreement. Car on display @ our showrooms in Mortlake. |
